In this article I’m talking about reaching weight loss results faster. If you’ve seen some of my previous messages you’ll know that I’ve talked about intensity before, but I thought it was well worth a visit in the context of burning the most calories, in the shortest amount of time.
If you want to burn fat, you might be tempted to workout long and steady. If you do this type of workout then well done, you’re burning calories and benefitting your fitness. You might force yourself to run for perhaps an hour or more to try to shift the calories. Or maybe you think you should be doing long workouts, but you just can’t bring yourself to actually do it. Well, I can sympathise with where you’re coming from. If this is you I have some good news for you. To burn maximum amounts of fat, you don’t have to workout longer and longer.
The best way to burn fat is to mix up your workouts and include workouts with high intensity, using as many different muscles as possible. If you work out for, say 30 minutes including intervals of high intensity, with breaks at recovery pace, it will bring your heart rate up and increase your metabolism. OK the workout will take effort, but you will then be able to go about the rest of your day knowing that your metabolism has been boosted, and your system is busily burning extra calories whatever you’re doing, whether you’re walking around, sitting at a desk, watching TV, and even whilst you sleep! I’m sure you’ll agree that has got to be the smartest way to workout!
